StuffIt Deluxe packages your files and sends them where you want them as easily as drag-and-drop. Need security? Destinations uses strong AES 256-bit encryption. Destinations combines DropStuff and StuffIt Expander into one powerful tool. It's an expansion tool that supports nearly any file type you download from the Internet or receive as an attachment. • Other features: Create disk images in one step with MagicMenu or the StuffIt Contextual Menu.

  • Use Destinations to create multiple Preference settings and save them as Tiles to meet your needs: Make encrypted Zip and upload to FTP server. Make StuffIt X archive and burn to DVD. The customization possibilities are nearly endless.

  • Schedule backups with StuffIt Scheduler. Automatically backup archives to CD/DVD, or upload them to FTP, or your MobileMe iDisk

  • Automate StuffIt with Automator Actions, AppleScript, and command line tools

  • With the StuffIt Plugin for Google's MacFUSE, you can mount archives in the Finder and browse the contents as virtual disks.

  • Create Mini-Installers with SEA Maker. With the Remote Payload feature, you can create small mini-installers that download their parts from an FTP or MobileMe iDisk.

  • Innovative technologies such as our patented data recompression and duplicate detection.

StuffIt 2011's engine enhancements improve performance and create smaller archives. StuffIt can now recompress WAV files.

Stuffit Deluxe Mac Download

StuffIt was the most versatile and used compression suite on the Mac since 1987. It began as shareware and then it went commercial but StuffIt Expander (the decompression tool) always remained free and was even bundled by Apple on Mac OS release CD-ROM's starting from the mid-90's, coinciding with the popularity of the internet in homes. It became so much of an essential tool when downloading basically *anything* from the internet. Macintosh applications (and most documents) all contain resource forks which are not binary safe nor transfered using standard FTP or HTTP tools such as web browsers. Therefore, StuffIt took care of bundling resource forks along with the binary data constituting the file and allowed for uploading/downloading from or to a web server. It also took care of storing such Mac files on a Windows computer for instance. This .sit format stayed forever the #1 choice for archiving old Macintosh files/applications whereas .zip format became the standard on Windows computers.

Smith Micro Software offers free downloads of StuffIt Expander for Mac and Windows, which expands (uncompresses) files compressed using the StuffIt and StuffIt X format, as well as many other compressed, encoded, encrypted and segmented formats. The shareware application DropStuff permits the compressing of files into the StuffIt X format.

StuffIt Expander is a proprietary, freeware, closed source, decompression software utility developed by Allume Systems (a subsidiary of Smith Micro Software formerly known as Aladdin Systems). It runs on the classic Mac OS, macOS, and Microsoft Windows. Prior to 2011, a Linux version had also been available for download.

StuffIt Expander is a proprietary file compression and expansion utility developed by Allume Systems (a subsidiary of Smith Micro Software). The Mac version of StuffIt Expander is free to download from the App Store, requiring Mac OS X 10.8 or higher.

StuffIt Deluxe 2010 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later, and supports Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. The Quick Look plug-in and MacFUSE plug-in require Mac OS X 10.5 or later, and both the MacFUSE support (which enables you to mount StuffIt archives as though they were disks in the Finder) and the Growl support (which provides notifications of completed actions) require separate downloads.

It wasn't that it was installing crap-ware, but rather they kept trying to upsell users who downloaded the light version (not just to Stuffit Deluxe, which I purchased and kept up to date for years but also to Spring Cleaning and other questionable value tools). The users I supported couldn't figure it out and would blame US because a file we sent required them to buy software to open it.Actually, Smith Micro weren't figuring it out. The promos/upsell/nagging was a pain. It wasn't quite spamming, but wasn't far off. Smith Micro represented hard sell, we didn't like it or them.Call me curmudgeonly, but even hearing the words Smith and Micro in the same sentence puts me in a negative space.

and when we had our users install the free product (back when we distributed .sit archives created with StuffIt Pro) they would complain or become confused about "having" to download and install the Pro software.

Several years ago, another graphic designer friend of mine suggested I try using YouSendIt (dot com) as a FREE means of uploading large files and for me, it works perfectly. I just upload a file or zipped folder to yousendit, put in my recipient's info and an email containing a download link is sent to them. Fast, easy, and free! It sure beats shelling out fifty bucks for an upload service that basically does the same thing.

Allume's Award-winning StuffIt Expander (included in downloads of StuffIt Standard and Deluxe) is a free tool to expand compressed or encoded files! When you receive a Zip file, you want to get at its contents as quickly as possible. What you don't want are nagging dialogs slowing you down. Always-free Expander is intuitive and easy to use! Just double-click, or drag and drop, and the contents of your archive are placed into the same directory as the zip archive.

i uploaded the only linux stuffit i can find. it's not deluxeyou have to change directory(`cd`) into the directory that has the files you want to work on, otherwise it will error and say the file doesn't exist.I recommend using the `-e=mac -m=on` flags to try to preserve resource forks and text encoding

@CyberMonkey: I found a direct Web Archive link that downloads a g-zipped tarball here: ://www.stuffit.com/downloa...I haven't tested it but the link downloads as a file of 5.8MB in size, so it does contain data at least.

Remember to copy the Registration Number BEFORE you run Installer. That way you can paste it when installer asks you to register. Serial Number is DLXE-851-563744 and found in the expanded folder as the name to a 1K text clipping file - probably the way all expanded downloads show - Brilliant and thanks for the apps.

Edit: I've downloaded the StuffIt Deluxe 5.5 CD from Pandora. Inside this CD has various non-Aladdin software (ACTION Files 1.5.2, AportisDoc Mobile, AportisDoc Reader, BrainForest Mobile, Gravity Simulator, Groovysoft Software, Acrobat Reader 4, BBEdit 5.1.1 Demo, Internet Explorer 5, Josh's Apple Game, On Guard 3.3.1, Tex-Edit 2.7.2, Biggy Demo, FontAgent 8, Snitch 2.6.5, and Tex-Edit Plus 3.0.1) and Aladdin products goodies (GoBar 2.2, HotTime 1.3, InstallerMaker 6.5.2, DropStuff 5.5, Expander 5.5, Tuner 3.0, Desktop Magician 1.0.1, DragStrip 3.7.1, FlashBack 1.130, MacTicker 1.6.3, IntelliNews 2.0.1, MacHeadlines Pro 1.9.1, MacHeadlines Lite 1.9.1, ShrinkWarp 3.5.1, Sundial 3.0 Demo, and WeatherTracker 3.0.6) including the installer of StuffIt Deluxe itself and StuffIt Deluxe 5.5.1 updater. Will be uploaded later.

I've had very limited success with Stuffit Deluxe 5.5 from this download. It seems to stop working after a certain time (is it the S/N?), or something gets corrupted, but anyhow I've had to install it 5 times now and I am DONE with this. I'm using 7.6.1 on a PPC. 2ff7e9595c
